Guys, be honest: Would you want you had been larger? Almost certainly, the answer is yes.

"I believe there is not a guy on the planet who has not wished his penis had been an inch or two lengthier," states Michael O'Leary, MD, professor of urologic surgery at Harvard Healthcare School and a urologist at Brigham and Women's Clinic in Boston.

However, following much more than the usual century of generally doubtful and occasionally lunatic penis enlargement attempts, there's still not a lot you can do. Sure, there are lots and plenty of intended options out there -- penis tablets, lotions, brutal stretching exercises, horrific-looking devices, and penis surgery. Almost none of it really works. The few methods that can work often have modest benefits and severe aspect results. How serious? In a few instances, erectile dysfunction-serious.

"Trust me, if I knew of a way to safely and effectively improve penis size, I would be a billionaire," O'Leary tells WebMD. "But I don't. No one does."

Still, common sense does not stop size-obsessed men from attempting very sketchy treatments on the vital component of their anatomy -- and jeopardizing a great deal in the procedure.

How Small Is a Small penis?
Believe you're smaller than typical? You're most likely not.

The standard erect penis is usually 5 to six inches long having a circumference of four to five inches. There's more variation within the dimension of flaccid penises.

Some guys are genuinely smaller than that. In rare cases, genetics and hormone issues cause a condition known as micropenis -- an erect penis of under 3 inches. Sometimes Peyronie's disease or prostate most cancers surgery can decrease a guy's dimension.

But studies show that most of the guys seeking penis enlargement are average-sized. They just think they are beneath typical.

Why? Component of it's perspective. It is very difficult to gauge the size of your own penis -- looking down, you've got a nasty angle.

Psychology performs a task, as well. Some average-sized men turn out to be obsessed with the idea that they are as well little. There's even a psychiatric diagnosis: penile dysmorphic condition. It is much like the perceptual distortion of anorexics who believe they're fat regardless of how skinny they get.

According to one study, nearly all men who get penis enlargement surgery have this situation. They're also the least satisfied with the outcomes.
